Dear Open Science enthusiast,
Last Friday, OSC-W was officially launched. Some of you were there and we hope that you enjoyed it as much as we did. It was nice to see that there is as much interest in open science-related topics as there are controversies regarding our current way of doing science. Let’s not stop here, but continue to build a community and change the way of how we do science from within!
A little question for everyone who was there on Friday: Did you remember to send 3 take-home messages to 3 of your colleagues on Monday? If not, you can still do so 😉 We are curious to hear what these 3 take-home messages were: share them with us (via e-mail or on Twitter @OSCWageningen). If you could not attend, don’t worry, some of the slides, pictures and a blog post will be available on our website soon. We will keep you posted. In the meantime, you can find a short article on the event and the first Lighthouse awardee in Resource.
As promised, you don’t need to wait long for our next event. On 9 June 2022, Harm Veling will give a lunch seminar on Preregistration. For further information and registration check our website and the attached item. During this lunch seminar, an introduction to preregistration will be given. Preregistration entails specifying and reporting the steps that are needed to answer a research question before conducting research and/or before analyzing data. If you want to make your research more open, preregistrations are a good way to start.
Last, but not least, if you have any Open Science related questions or ideas, if you want to organize some sort of event or share some thoughts, please don’t be shy and reach out to us.
Cheers, Annika Tensi for OSC-W
